We Believe You.
#DeacsToo is an independent student-run blog not affiliated with Wake Forest University. The Wake Forest Title IX Office and the S.A.F.E. Office were both consulted and have offered their professional expertise to increase safety and transparency on this sensitive matter.
This blog is for you. This blog is not meant for investigators or reporters but is an avenue of connection, a mediator for healing, and the first step toward recovery.
We also understand that sexual assault operates on a spectrum. This blog is a space for all types of survivors to share their healing journeys. Your stories are sacred and want to assure you that we will handle them with the same care and caution that we would the stories of our friends, family, or our own.
What You Need to Know
This is an uplifting space.
We want to promote healing and empower survivors to share their stories. Share as much or as little of your story as you want but slander or targeted hatred will not be tolerated.
Protecting your privacy.
Our main goals in pursuing this project is to create a safe for survivors to share their stories anonymously.
Identifying Yourself and Others
We understand that using specific names can be cathartic for Identifying and using your own name can be cathartic, as a way to claim and own your experience. However, other statements about other specific people, places, dates, or organizations, will be de-identified. Otherwise, all stories will be submitted as written. For example:
“John Doe” will become “a person”
“Sigma Tigma Figma” will become “a campus organization”
